Tomatos or Tomatoes - New basic keyword research tool?

I just stumbled upon (no, not using that service) WebSource.it, a new phrase comparison search engine that directly compares the popularity of two (EDIT: or more!) search phrases, reporting the popularity of each in basic terms.  It is pitched partly as a way of working out the popularity of terms for correctness ie. is it tomatos or tomatoes but works equally as well as a basic keyword research tool.

The data gets pulled using the Google API, so it’s definitely coming from a reliable source, and while the data returned is very basic and it’s not clear what period of time the data covers (ie. is it per day, week, month etc?), there is definitely an application for this kind of search facility when doing basic keyword research.  To be fair, their FAQ explains that the data the service returns shows an “indication of popularity” - so I guess you don’t want to ‘bet the farm’ on the results, but to get a quick perception, it’s great.

Interestingly, a search for my topic of interest (with some misspellings), “working from home” revealed the following:

I think this will prove to be a fantastic tool for discovering potentially unexploited and misspelled (did I spell that right? - Looks up websource.it) keyword phrases and a great first place to start before going on to Wordtracker et al.  I’ve added it to my arsenal.

EDIT:  Thanks Dimitris (below) from WebsourceIt for the tip about comparing more than two phrases at a time.  Hit Tab and you can compare up to a total of 5 phrases. Neat!

Thanks for the write up - as well as the insight of using our service to see how ‘crowded’ a name space is in a particular topic.

Don’t know if you found out but by hitting tab you can create new fields and include more terms (up to 5) in your comparison.

Thanks again!
